VfB-Jungs überrollen auch den Verbandsligisten
Am Donnerstagabend gastierte um 19:00 Uhr der SV Kelbra aus Sachsen-Anhalt im Arterner Salinestadion. Nachdem unsere Landesklasse-Truppe in den letzten Wochen gegen Gegner aus der Kreisoberliga weitestgehend überzeugend aufspielte und gewann, galt dieses Spiel als erster richtiger Härtetest. Trainer Matthias Köpp konnte nach wie vor nicht auf Tom Schlotthauer zurückgreifen und Alex Franke fehlte ebenfalls. Das formulierte Ziel war es, mannschaftlich geschlossen aufzutreten und kämpferisch zu verteidigen, ohne die Offensive gänzlich zu vernachlässigen.
Die erste Hälfte endete zwar mit einem 0:0, dennoch war diese sehr ansehnlich. Unsere Jungs dominierten das Spiel und kamen zu einigen guten Abschlussszenen, sodass in der Pause nur an der Chancenverwertung Kritik geübt werden konnte.
In der zweiten Hälfte versuchte der SV Kelbra dominanter aufzutreten, nachdem man im ersten Durchgang kaum zu gefährlichen Aktionen kam. Dennoch stand die Abwehr des VfB weitestgehend solide, sodass man nun durch Konter für Gefahr sorgen konnte. Die ersten beiden Tore wurden dann wieder einmal mit einem Doppelschlag in der 55. und 56. Minute erzielt. Zunächst bediente Richi Schirmer Janno Beyer, ehe Schirmer von Basti Rüdiger steil geschickt wurde und ebenfalls seinen vorhandenen Torriecher unter Beweis stellen konnte. In der 83. Minute wurde Jonas Henning dann von Basti Rüdiger bedient und musste nur noch querlegen, sodass Janno Beyer ins leere Tor einschieben konnte und somit den Endstand markierte.
Dieser Test macht definitiv Lust auf mehr und zeigt, dass unsere Jungs bereit sind, das Ziel Klassenerhalt in der Landesklasse in Angriff zu nehmen. Das Ergebnis geht in dieser Höhe in Ordnung und hätte aufgrund der ersten Hälfte auch noch deutlicher ausfallen können. Dennoch reicht es nicht, sich nun auf den Lorbeeren auszuruhen, sondern es muss weiter hart gearbeitet werden, damit der Saisonstart positiv gestaltet werden kann.
